Optional Hosting

Want hosting? Great! Don't need it? No problem. Hosting is always optional and available separately.

Most of our tools work perfectly on your own hosting. We'll even help you set it up.

License Terms

One License, One Instance

Each license covers one running instance of the software. This means one API key per installation or deployment. You can't share or duplicate your license key across multiple installations.

What This Means

If you want to run the same software on multiple servers or installations, you need separate licenses. Each API key is unique to one deployment and can't be reused or shared.

License Protection

We protect our software using API key-based licensing. Here's how it works:

  • API Key Required: Each copy needs a valid API key to function
  • Server Verification: The software checks with our license servers regularly to validate your license
  • Regular Check-ins: Your software will ping our license system every few minutes to verify it's still valid
  • Optional Obfuscation: For extra protection, some products include code obfuscation

License System Reliability

Our license verification system runs at https://license.winterstormsystems.com. If our license servers go down, your software will stop working temporarily. We monitor our systems 24/7 and will work as fast as we can to restore service if any issues occur.

What You Can Do

  • Use the software with your licensed API key indefinitely
  • Modify configuration files and settings as needed
  • Get support and updates for your license
  • Move your installation to a different server (same API key)
  • Use it for commercial purposes (unless otherwise noted)

What You Can't Do

  • Share your API key with others
  • Use one API key for multiple installations
  • Resell or redistribute our software
  • Remove or bypass license protection
  • Reverse engineer the code (where obfuscated)

Q: Can I use this for my client's project?
A: Sure! Just make sure they understand the license is tied to their installation, not yours.

Q: What if I want to move to a different server?
A: No problem! Just contact us and we'll help you update the license to your new setup.

Q: Do I need hosting from you?
A: Nope! Our hosting is optional. Use your own hosting if you prefer.
